Cygnet Theatre from Exeter return to Knackershole Garden Theatre with William Shakespeare’s Classic ‘A Comedy of Errors’, directed by Amanda Knott.
Emilia and Aegeon and their twin sons, the Antipholus, and the twin sons they have adopted, the Dromios, are on board a ship when a mighty storm splits the vessel in two -husband and wife, brother and brother are seemingly separated for ever.
In search of his family, Antipholus and Dromio of Syracuse venture across the world to Ephesus where they come upon what seems to be a topsy turvy crazy town. The madness, the misunderstandings, the confusion is, of course, because everyone thinks they are their twin brothers who have, as it happens, comfortably settled in Ephesus.
Shakespeare’s early comedy is a rip roaring farce of mistaken identity .. fast and fun and deeply touching when, at last, the parents and the brothers are happily reunited.
