The Dulverton Antiques Valuation Day is back!
After the success of the first Dulverton Antiques Valuation Day in March 2023, our friends at Adam Partridge Auctioneers are returning to the beautiful market town of Dulverton, the Southern Gateway to Exmoor, for another valuation event – and a fun competition for all to enter!
What is happening?
On Saturday 23rd September from 10.30am to 3.30pm, four experts from Adam Partridge Auctioneers will be joining Visit Dulverton to host a valuation event in Dulverton’s historic Town Hall. Visitors will be invited to bring along their antiques, jewellery, fine art & collectors’ items. For a small donation the specialists on hand will give a valuation and history of the items that are brought along. The donation is to be £5 for a maximum of three portable items per person (that are small enough to carry!).
There will also be a fun COMPETITION at the event, when visitors will be asked to guess WHAT IS THE ITEM? Three unique antique items will be displayed and competitors will be invited to write down what they believe the item to be and what was its original intended use. The first person to guess all three correctly will win a bottle of wine donated by Dulverton’s Town Mills B&B! Thinking caps on!
There will also be stalls from Dulverton’s own Oggies Music Shop and Tim Venning. Both businesses create fascinating upcycled and repurposed items for the home – from musical instruments to agricultural machinery!
Refreshments will be available and the bar will be open.

Meet Adam Partridge
Adam Partridge Auctioneers
Adam is well known as a regular face on television programmes such as Flog It!, Antiques Road Trip, Dickinson’s Real Deal and Bargain Hunt, and is delighted to be assisting Visit Dulverton with this new event.
Adam said, “The last two years have been very difficult for so many businesses, but also for towns and villages impacted by a lack of visitor numbers. When we were asked to offer a team of valuers for this event we instantly said yes! And with our new salesroom only a few miles away in Hele, we hope to be visiting this area a lot in the future”.
If anyone has large items or too many pieces to bring on the day, Adam Partridge Auctioneers will be pleased to offer home appointments. For those wishing to sell items, the auctioneers will be able to accept pieces on the day for future specialist auctions.
No appointments will be necessary at the Dulverton Antiques Valuation Day. It will be first come, first served, with a simple ticketing system on the day.

Fixy is back for more unwanted smart tech!
Look out for the bright blue Fixy van outside Dulverton Hall Town promoting the repair and reuse of items.
Fixy will be accepting donations of unwanted smart tech for reuse, including laptops, tablets, mobile phones, PCs/desktops and digital cameras, smart speakers, smart watches, games consoles and accessories. If you can include the relevant power cables, AC adaptors and accessories, this will enable greater reuse. Please remove your device from iCloud or other accounts otherwise it cannot be reused. So dig out that forgotten unused smart tech, however old it is, and bring it along.
The Fixy team will pass this tech on to Somerset-based DonateIT, which will be repaired and repurposed before it goes back out into our communities, helping to address the digital divide. Data is completely wiped to comply with data protection regulations. Any items not fit for reuse will be recycled securely.
Electrical items are full of valuable raw materials, such as gold copper, aluminium and steel. Making new items also uses huge amounts of energy. Reusing them is a small but useful action in tackling climate change!
Visit somerset.gov.uk/fixy for more about Fixy smart tech donations for reuse and drop off locations.
Fixy won’t be repairing anything at the van. However, the team will have information about community repair groups across the county where volunteers help repair all sorts of things for a small donation. For more details, visit:somerset.gov.uk/somersets-repair-network
And remember you can recycle most of your small waste electrical items through your weekly kerbside recycling collections in Somerset. For more on how to recycle at the kerbside and through local recycling sites, somerset.gov.uk/waste
